Swallow Luxury Long Matches

Swallow luxury long matches are as stylish as they are useful. If youve got candles on the dining table, on the sideboard, the mantelpiece, even in wall sconces these extra-long matches will help you light all of them with ease at no risk to your fingers.

The matchbox features a print of swallows on a wire against a soft yellow background. Stand the matchbox on a windowsill, mantelpiece or shelf to display the artwork. The matches are approximately 29cm long, letting you reach down into large candle holders or even up to old-fashioned chandeliers.

Please note: colours of the matches may vary from the image.

The matchboxes are designed and printed in the UK by Archivist. They use traditional letterpress printing a technique thats remained almost unchanged since Johannes Gutenberg first invented the printing press in the mid-15th century. An inked stamp or engraving is pressed onto a sheet of paper to reveal the design. The force with which the paper and stamp meet can leave indentations in the paper, giving letterpress prints a unique texture.

Litho printing is another technique Archivist use. This involves the image being placed on a plate which is then covered in ink and used for printing.
